NASSA Lending Library

The Library was created to provide all NASSA members access to educational materials related to Shetland Sheep and Fiber.

If you need information, borrow a book from the library!

  • Lambing
  • Building and equipment
  • Shetland fibre
  • History
  • Health and Nutrition

 

Lending Rules

  • You must be a member of NASSA in good standing.

  • You can borrow up to 3 books at a time.

  • You must return the books in 4 weeks. After that there will be a late fee of $5 per week. After one month, if the items are not returned you will be billed for the item. If not paid, the matter will be referred to the NASSA Board of Directors.

  • You pay for postage of the books, both ways, plus $1.00 per item to cover packaging, binders, wear and tear. Any extra money accumulated will be put toward buying books.

  • If you lose or damage the borrowed items in any way, you are responsible for replacing the item. If it is damaged but can still be used, you will be assessed a percentage charge which will be put into the library account.

 

The Library gratefully accepts donations of books, materials, videos for the library. If there is an item you think the library should have please send your suggestions to the Librarian.

On the Library wish list are two books that are currently out of print.

Knitting by the Fireside and on the Hillside, A History of the Shetland Handknitting Industry, Linda G Fryer

Sheep and Man, Michael Ryder.
